Students applying to Grade 5 and above are asked to submit the results of a standardized test that is used to provide context to the rest of the application.

Students submit results of the ISEE or SSAT multiple choice standardized exam to add one objective datapoint to the process. There is no "pass mark" and a range of scores are accepted. In this sense it is information for the admissions committee rather than and evaluation one must "pass" to gain admission.
Applicants who miss the 31 January deadlines will be considered in ASL's second round of decisions assuming the application is complete by 15 March. Admissions becomes rolling after 15 March if any places remain.

Both the Lower and Middle schools have extensive after-school programs; High School students can participate in a variety of after-school clubs. Students in Grade 7 and above can try out for sports teams that compete against other schools.
