Yessil (formerly Tselinograd Left Bank) is the modern administrative heart of Astana, containing the Presidential Palace (Ak Orda), government ministries, and the iconic Bayterek Tower. Residents include government officials, diplomats, corporate professionals, and international families. The district was built largely from scratch since 1997 when Astana became the capital, giving it a futuristic, planned character.
The Nurzhol Boulevard is a grand pedestrian promenade connecting major landmarks. Presidential Park offers green space. Modern playgrounds in residential areas.
Bus network and the new LRT (light rail transit, opened 2022) connect Yessil to other districts. Taxis are affordable.
