Nervion is a bustling commercial and residential district east of the old town, anchored by the Nervion Plaza shopping center and the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium (home of Sevilla FC). The population is a broad cross-section of Sevillian middle class — families, young professionals, and retirees. The international presence is small.
The Parque de Maria Luisa — Sevillas most famous park — is accessible from the southern edge of Nervion. The Buhaira Gardens, a small Moorish-inspired garden, provides a quiet escape. The districts main green space is the tree-lined avenida Eduardo Dato. The Guadalquivir riverside paths are a short walk west.
The Metro de Sevilla has several stations in Nervion (Nervion, Gran Plaza, San Bernardo). San Bernardo is also a regional rail station. Bus lines connect to all parts of the city. The metro to the center takes about 5 minutes. Nervion has arguably the best public transit access in Sevilla.
Nervion Plaza is a large shopping center with El Corte Ingles, fashion brands, a cinema, and restaurants. The Mercado de la Puerta de la Carne is a nearby traditional market. Mercadona, Lidl, and other supermarkets are scattered throughout. The districts commercial character means shopping options are excellent.
