Average monthly AQI (US EPA scale)
Yearly average AQI is 73. Best air quality Feb–Nov (best: Jul at 48). Jan–Dec air quality worsens due to heat, humidity, and dust (peak: Dec at 115). Families with children who have asthma or respiratory conditions should plan indoor activities during summer months.
Yunusabad is where Tashkent's new money and old intelligentsia overlap. The northern district has seen explosive development over the past decade, with sleek apartment towers replacing Soviet-era buildings. Turkish businesses have a strong presence — construction firms, restaurants, schools — reflecting the deep cultural and linguistic ties between the two countries.
The Tashkent Botanical Garden, while technically in the adjacent district, is Yunusabad's de facto park — a vast green space used by families, joggers, and cyclists. The district's newer developments include landscaped grounds with playgrounds, jogging tracks, and outdoor fitness equipment that are well-maintained by building management companies.
Yunusabad metro station is the terminal of the Yunusobod line, providing a direct connection to the city center in about 20 minutes. The new above-ground metro extension has improved coverage in the northern sections of the district. Bus routes run frequently along the main Amir Temur Avenue extension.
Yunusabad has the most modern daily infrastructure in Tashkent outside of Yakkasaray. Korzinka Plus and Makro supermarkets are supplemented by a growing number of specialty food stores selling imported Turkish, Korean, and European products. Several modern polyclinics and the Medical Park hospital offer good healthcare, with some English-speaking doctors available.
Yunusabad sits at a slightly higher elevation than central Tashkent, which provides marginally cooler temperatures in summer — perhaps 1-2C less than the city center. The proximity to the Botanical Garden and the foothill breezes make summer evenings more tolerable here than in the dense southern districts. Summer highs still reach 36-40C, and air conditioning is universal in newer buildings.
