English and Math entrance evaluations have been designed by the school to evaluate basic language and math skills reflecting our curriculum. The English evaluation assesses reading, writing and oral language skills; while the Math evaluation assesses basic grade level mathematical skills.

1. Morning duty begins at 7:00 A.M. Each classroom assistant is assigned an area to supervise. The staff member should circulate within the assigned area, monitoring the activities of students. 2. Afternoon duty begins at 2:00 P.M. and ends at 2:30 P.M. All Elementary and Middle School students are to be escorted to the school’s gate by the Classroom Assistant. Children must not stand outside in the parking area. All staff members must remain at their duty location until 2:30 P.M.
3. Break: Proper supervision by staff is expected, with staff circulating among students. Supervision will be scheduled by the Principal and Assistant Principal.
4. Lunch: Staff are assigned regular lunch duty; a schedule will be created by the Principal and Assistant Principal.

The Sports and Physical Education program at Al-Bayan International School teaches students a wide variety of skills and places emphasis firmly upon enjoyment and active participation. In the KG program the students learn a variety of generic skills such as catching, throwing, rolling, jumping etc., all designed to improve awareness and hand-eye coordination.
As students move through the grade levels, are exposed to an extensive variety of team games. They have the opportunity to learn games such as soccer, basketball, short tennis and many more. They also have the opportunity to learn basic gymnastic and movement skills. The skills acquired in lower elementary are carried through Grades 4 and 5 and also expanded upon. Enjoyment and sportsmanship are emphasized in the students’ learning, as is the importance of teamwork and cooperation.
In middle and high school, students explore sports in blocks of 6-week activities. The sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, badminton, baseball, athletics, and tag rugby. Once again, emphasis is placed on participation, sportsmanship and enjoyment.

The Instructional Technology program is designed to assist all students in learning the computer skills needed to be successful in school and in the real world. The elementary aged students use computer software to practice basic computer skills, develop appropriate technology vocabulary, learn touch-typing skills, conduct authentic research, select and utilize appropriate software to support learning, and become familiar with productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and photo-editing software.
Middle school and high school students continue to learn touch-typing, but also develop advanced skills in research and presentation skills, word processing, database, spreadsheets, internet research, web page design, photo editing, and desktop publishing. In addition, the use of various software programs, internet resources, and various other technologies assist students in their learning through school-based projects, organizational management, and career planning.

The educational psychologist works closely with the entire school community: students, staff, and parents. The responsibilities include assessing student’s cognitive, achievement, social, and emotional functioning; recommending to teachers specific techniques to meet students' individual needs; and collaborating with teachers to design classroom behavior plans.
The educational psychologist also provide students with short-term counseling for issues that are negatively affecting their academic performance, and when necessary, make referrals to outside mental health professionals.
