Students entering our Early Years to Year 2 will be given an informal speaking and writing test, usually conducted during a trial session. We also expect to see a current or most recent school report if available.
Students entering Year 3 to 6 students will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4), which measures how a student learns most effectively and their overall academic potential. For students entering our Form 1 to 4 in Secondary, the CAT4 test will also be accompanied by an additional English test (if required) and we will expect to see the students most recent school report. Applicants for the Lower Sixth are expected to have actual or forecast grades of at least four A grades and two B grades at IGCSE, SPM or equivalent, which must include English and Mathematics. We do not offer an intake for Upper Sixth students.
入学評価の簡単な説明
Primary school: : The child is given a full tour of the school, in particular the classroom that they will be enrolled into. As well as ensuring that each child feels comfortable and welcomed before the more formal part of the admissions process, the tour allows KTJ to informally assess the student’s ability to communicate clearly in English at a level that is appropriate for their chronological age.
1) Key Stage 1 and Early Years students will have an informal assessment with the Admissions Executive and will be asked to produce a piece of writing, where appropriate.
2) Key Stage 2 students will be asked to sit for a CAT 4 assessment, which covers Maths, English and Non-verbal reasoning and will be asked to produce a piece of writing.
3) Finally, the student will be asked to spend some time with the relevant class teacher for an informal in class assessment.
Secondary schools: Forms 1 – 4: All students are offered a tour of the school. KTJ will then ask the student to sit for KTJ's online assessments which cover English, mathematics and non-verbal reasoning. They take approximately 2 hours to complete and are done in the Registrar’s office. Depending on the student’s level of English, KTJ
will do a follow up 30 minute written assignment and/or a verbal conversation with a member of KTJ's English Additional Language team for 10 minutes. This will allow KTJ to place students appropriately into the correct English language class. All of this is taken into consideration alongside the student’s previous school report.
A levels / Sixth Form: All students are offered a tour of the school. For the Sixth Form programme, KTJ looks at the students forecast or actual IGCSE or SPM results and previous school reports to come to a decision regarding admission. No online tests are necessary for Sixth Form students.
We accept applications to KTJ Primary at any time in the academic year. Students can join KTJ Secondary for the August or January intake.

授業でのICT活用
As part of KTJ's Vision 2030, it is our goal to explore opportunities in emerging digital learning and to develop our students' digital citizenship; alongside delivering a digital plan which enhances learning, strengthens relationships within our community and extends our reach. We have recently introduced a Bring Your Own Device Policy for the Secondary School from January 2021, where all students will be expected to bring a laptop or tablet to every lesson. We will also be enhancing our provision of devices in the Primary School. Technology plays a part in everyone's lives and so it is important students develop healthy habits. Part of this means recognises that technology and devices are used for leisure as well as work. Therefore, we don't ban the use of mobile phones during the school day, but we have in place a set of rules which help students to understand when it is appropriate to use a device and the etiquette around use. We have zones around the School which indicate either no use, free use, or use with permission. What's more, we do not allow anyone, either staff or student, to wander around with their head down and eyes fixated on their device. It is just not good manners to do this, and on occasion it is not even safe.
オンライン授業への対応(休校時など)
We work with technology which has the flexibility to be used both in the classroom and during any period when students are prevented from attending lessons in person. One vital piece of software for us is Google Classroom, which is used by teachers to set tasks and by students to submit work. We then have some other software which allows teachers to mark and feedback online. This technology is being used for most lessons even when all students are in the classroom.
