The internet is a vast resource and we recognise that it is an outstanding education tool. Our students have access to Chromebooks, iPads and laptops to connect on to collaborative platforms like Google, subscription sites, apps and more. Our teachers take every opportunity to discuss aspects of Digital Citizenship with our students to help them become safe users on the internet as well as encourage them to think critically about what they access and who they connect with. We also place a heavy emphasis on digital innovation. Our Year 4 to 6 students learn coding principles via scratch and physical computing using makecode and microbits. We believe that these skills will prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.
Our religion classes are based on values and morals. Even if our students are non-religious, they are able to enjoy stories about helping others and being kind to your neighbours.

YCA utilizes a differentiated curriculum that responds to the educational needs of each child. The International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which is used at the school, encourages and enables students to utilise their varying learning styles and provides plentiful opportunity for children’s special abilities to be enhanced and developed.
Students who are identified as having a special ability are appropriately extended within the classroom programme. In addition, Island CA organizes various extension activities during lunchtime and after school as part of education outside of the classroom (EOTC).
