Christian Academy in Japan is a K-12 school established in 1950 to provide Christ-centered education to the children of evangelical missionaries. While continuing in this purpose, CAJ also serves many other families who desire this type of education for their children. CAJ is committed to equipping students to serve Japan and the world for Christ.

Entry evaluation for students

Test and interview

Brief description of entry evaluation required

All Kindergarten and first grade applicants are given a readiness test. English language testing may be required of non-native speakers of English at any grade level. To be admitted, applicants for grades 9-12 must have grade-level English proficiency, applicants for grades 6-8 must be within one grade level, and applicants for kindergarten through grade 5 must be within two grade levels. The interview includes both the parents and the student.

There are often waiting lists for both Christian and non-Christian applicants, due to our enrollment caps.
