Entry evaluation for students

Yes, we carry out admissions assessments as part of the enrolment process.

Brief description of entry evaluation required

For Early Years children, we conduct a play-based assessment. For children from Year 1 to Year 3, we hold a small group assessment and spend time with each child to evaluate their numeracy, literacy, and language levels. From Year 4 upwards, we conduct a cognitive aptitude assessment along with an interview. Parents are also interviewed as part of the admissions process.

Students can explore their passions through over 500 co-curricular and extracurricular activities, clubs, and societies, from sports and arts to STEM, helping them discover new skills and make friends.

Physical education, following the British National Curriculum, is mandatory and includes swimming lessons. Students are also encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities, which often include a variety of physical activities and sports.

King’s Bangkok offers state-of-the-art facilities to support learning and creativity, including a 625-seat auditorium (the Great Hall), a dining hall, specialist classrooms for Science, Design and Technology, Music, Robotics, Drama, Art, and Cooking, and exceptional indoor and outdoor spaces in the Early Years Centre. Senior students enjoy ‘The College’ complex, featuring a Sixth Form Centre, modern library with co-working spaces, 300-seat refectory with outdoor access, soundproof ensemble hall, The Forum, advanced art studios with exhibition space, a parents’ lounge with Dean & DeLuca Café and school shop, and over 550 indoor parking spaces.

Our extensive sports facilities include an enclosed, heated, saltwater Olympic-size swimming pool, a heated splash pool for Early Years students, outdoor and covered courts, a FIFA-quality football turf, an outdoor running track, an indoor jogging track, two air-conditioned sports halls with full-size basketball courts, a gymnastics studio with Olympic-standard floor and apparatus, a fully equipped TechnoGym fitness room, four tennis courts, and coverd multi-purpose space for sports and activities.

Learning support offered

We provide support for students with special learning needs, including those who are gifted and talented. Our whole-school provision includes a counsellor, SEN support, and Learning Enrichment (LE) programmes. Students who require additional language support may also receive English as an Additional Language (EAL) support, as recommended by their teachers. Learning support for students with difficulties is considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure they can access the curriculum.

The school supports gifted, able and talented students

Gifted and talented students are supported through an Individual Education Plan, structured collaboratively by the Learning Support team and their form tutor. Additional enrichment opportunities are also provided through our Learning Enrichment (LE) programmes.
