Yes, we have Islamic classes before and after school. So, all students can stay at school. Non-Muslim students are allowed to use the library or gym during these times. So supervised care is available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Yes. SIS provides a school bus service to selected areas in Sapporo city and Ebetsu city, depending on demand each year.

Yes. Students may bring their own lunch or order school lunch through our partner halal food provider.

Yes. SIS provides halal meals, and we accept requests for vegetarian or allergy-sensitive options. Parents may also send meals that follow their child’s dietary needs.

Yes. SIS has a school uniform, including a daily uniform and PE uniform. Dress code is simple, comfortable, and modest.

School is an Islamic-based School; however, Islamic subjects and prayers are optional (only for Muslim Students).

Islamic Classes are only provided before or after school for Muslim students; during school time, only International and Japanese classes are provided. Non-Muslim students enjoy their regular school classes and activities without any regulations or influence.

SIS provides a variety of extracurricular activities to support student interests and talents, including: STEM Club / Robotics Qur’an and Islamic Studies Club Japanese Culture Club (calligraphy, origami, language practice) Art & Craft Club Cooking and Life Skills Club Science Club Reading & English Club Sports Clubs (soccer, badminton, table tennis) Activities may change each year depending on student interest and available instructors.

The SIS Physical Education program includes: Soccer Basketball Badminton Table tennis Track and field basics Fitness training and stretching Fun games for younger students (relay, ball games, coordination activities) SIS also uses outdoor parks and indoor gyms to ensure students stay active year-round.

SIS provides several learning and innovation facilities, including: Library – with English, Japanese, and Islamic books. Science Laboratory – for hands-on experiments and STEM projects. IT & Computer Lab – for digital literacy, programming, and research. Robotics Lab – for robotics, engineering, and coding activities. Drone Piloting Space – for basic drone operation and aviation skills. Art Room – for creative and visual arts. Multipurpose Hall – for assemblies, presentations, and events. Prayer Rooms – separate areas for boys and girls. Medical and Counseling Room – for health checkups and student support.

Indoor gym space for basketball, badminton, table tennis, and PE activities. Outdoor playground for soccer, running, and games. Sports equipment such as trampolines, mats, cones, and training tools. Access to nearby community sports centers and parks for larger PE lessons and events.

For mild or slight learning support, our classroom teachers, together with the school counselor, can provide help inside the classroom. For severe learning needs, we guide parents to specialized centers in Sapporo, as SIS does not yet have full-time special-needs specialists.

SIS provides the following support for students with mild learning needs: Individual learning plans prepared by teachers and the counselor. Small-group instruction for English, Japanese, or math. Extra time for some assignments or tests when needed. Regular meetings with parents to follow progress. Behavior and emotional support from the school counselor. For students with severe needs, we cooperate with external professional centers for further assessment and support.

SIS offers: 1. Advanced tasks and extension projects inside the classroom. 2. Leadership roles in school activities and events. 3. STEM programs, science fairs, and competitions. 4. Opportunities for self-directed learning and project-based work. 5. Gifted students are encouraged to extend their knowledge beyond the regular curriculum.

Besides our school counselor and the medical Doctor, when needed, the school can refer parents to licensed educational psychologists in Sapporo City for professional assessment and reports.
