The After School Activities programme at Beacon complements the regular curricular programmes. The After School Activities programme at Beacon provides opportunities for students from K to 8 to discover new interests, meet new friends, and acquire new skills beyond academics. Each trimester, in coordination with the Sports After School and Music programmes, Beacon offers an additional range of activities to students including cooking, photography, cartooning, and drama. Not every activity is offered to students of all ages, yet at each grade level, students are provided with choices.

The co-curricular sports programmess at Beacon, like the K to 8 IB Physical Education courses, aim to promote health and fitness, teamwork, fair competition, leadership, responsibility, self-discipline, safety, and enjoyment through recreation. To enhance the educational experience of students, Beacon School offers a variety of developmentally appropriate sports programs after school: basketball, soccer, tennis, wall climbing, volleyball, gymnastics, and taekwondo.

Students with special educational needs (SEN) are admitted given that their learning needs are documented by an external psychologist or other qualified specialists and that these can be supported within the range of provisions available through the Student Learning Services at the Beacon School.

Working from a team-based approach, a Learning Plan or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is created and implemented to ensure that students, who require different teaching and assessment, receive intervention and reasonable accommodations, and are engaged in the program to the fullest extent possible. The team collaborates with the student’s parents, classroom teachers, and specialists as they address the student’s unique learning needs.
