Gasperich has transformed from a quiet residential suburb into a major business and residential district centered on the Ban de Gasperich (Cloche dOr) development. The population is half international, drawn by the new apartment stock and proximity to major employers including PwC, Deloitte, and the European Investment Fund. Young professional couples and families dominate the new developments.
The Parc de Gasperich is a newly developed green space with playgrounds, walking paths, and recreational areas. The Cloche dOr development includes landscaped public squares and green corridors. A new park around a retention pond provides a naturalistic green space unusual for such a modern district.
Free buses connect Gasperich to the Gare Centrale (10 minutes) and Kirchberg (20 minutes). The Luxtram extension will eventually reach the district, further improving connections. The current transit coverage is good for the main commercial areas but thinner in the residential fringes.
The Auchan Cloche dOr is one of Luxembourgs largest shopping centers, with a hypermarket, international food court, fashion brands, cinema, and electronics. It serves as the commercial anchor for the entire southern part of the city. Cactus and Delhaize supermarkets are in the area.
Gasperichs plateau position means slightly more wind exposure than the sheltered valleys of the Ville Haute and Grund. Temperatures 0-6C. The modern apartment buildings are well-insulated, making indoor comfort superior to older housing stock. Gray skies dominate.
