Riffa Views is Bahrain's premier gated residential community, attracting senior executives, diplomats, and wealthy Bahraini families. The development is built around the Royal Golf Club and features Mediterranean-style villas ranging from compact townhouses to sprawling estates. The community is quieter and more exclusive than other expat areas — residents here have chosen to trade the energy of Juffair or Seef for space, security, and privacy. The Bahraini-expat ratio is roughly even, with a noticeable presence of GCC nationals who maintain second homes.
The Royal Golf Club is the centerpiece of Riffa Views, offering an 18-hole championship course designed by Colin Montgomerie. Golf memberships are available to residents at preferential rates, and the club also has dining facilities, a pro shop, and social events. For non-golfers, the community includes swimming pools, tennis courts, and a fitness center. The manicured landscaping throughout the development provides a green, park-like environment unusual in Bahrain's arid landscape.
Riffa Views is located in the southern-central part of Bahrain, which means longer commutes to the northern commercial centers. The drive to Seef or Manama takes 25-35 minutes via the main highways, and the airport is about 30 minutes away. However, the highways are well-maintained and traffic outside peak hours moves quickly. The King Fahd Causeway to Saudi Arabia is approximately 35 minutes away. Rush hour (7:00-8:30 AM northbound, 4:30-6:00 PM southbound) adds 10-15 minutes.
Riffa Views has a small commercial center within the community offering basic conveniences — a small supermarket, a cafe, and a few shops. For full grocery shopping, LuLu Hypermarket in Riffa town is a 5-10 minute drive and provides comprehensive selection at good prices. The area is growing commercially, with new retail developments along the southern highway corridor. For premium shopping or major retail, residents drive north to City Centre Bahrain or The Avenues (25-30 minutes), which is the main inconvenience of the southern location.
Riffa Views' inland location means slightly cooler winter mornings than coastal neighborhoods, with temperatures occasionally dropping to 12-14C in January — notably chilly for Bahrain. The green landscaping of the community is at its best during these months, and the golf course is in peak condition. Outdoor barbecues, children playing in gardens, and evening walks around the community define the lifestyle. The desert to the south takes on a surprisingly green tinge after winter rains, and family camping trips are a popular weekend activity.
