📝 Living with the Climate
Riyadh has an extreme desert climate. Summers (June–August) are brutally hot with daytime highs regularly reaching 44°C and intense UV. Winters (December–February) are mild and pleasant during the day but nights can drop to 5–8°C. Spring brings occasional dust storms (shamals) that reduce visibility and spike air quality indices. The most liveable outdoor season runs October through April. There is no sea proximity — humidity stays very low year-round, making heat feel drier but more intense. Rain is rare and concentrated in winter and spring.
