Glenealy School es uno de los 21 colegios de la English Schools Foundation (ESF), fundada por decreto en 1967 para ofrecer una educación liberal y moderna a través del inglés. As English is the medium of instruction, apart from Chinese lessons, the admissions interview is based around whether a candidate has sufficient language, at an age appropriate level, to learn effectively through English. Interviews are intended to be informal and friendly and are conducted by experienced primary school teachers who realise that some students may be nervous and need to be put at their ease.

PE continues to be a popular subject at Glenealy and every student participates in 2 lessons per week. All PE lessons are very active, differentiated and progressive to allow opportunities for every student to make progress and feel a
sense of achievement. The units of inquiry cover different types of
games, athletics, gymnastics, dance and individual pursuits such as
cycling, juggling and skipping.

Learning Support Center

Students whose special educational needs require more extensive teaching and learning adjustments are supported by the Learning Support Centre who provide the option of small group teaching as well as support within mainstream classes where appropriate. Students in these settings may have more significant intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and/or physical disabilities. They require significant adjustments to the normal school curriculum in order to access it. Entry to this type of special education provision is through ESF Central Admission prpocedures.
